The Great Mughals Exhibition tour at the Victoria and Albert Museum, led by Dr. Fatima Zahra Hassan, founder and director of the Miniature Painting Academy, provides an insightful journey into the rich history and cultural legacy of the Mughals through decorative and applied arts, with a particular emphasis on paintings. Dr. Hassan, a distinguished miniature painter and educator specialis
ing in South Asian and Islamic art and material culture, guides participants through the exhibition, showcasing the intricate artistry and historical importance of the displayed pieces.
The tour will be interactive, encouraging participation. The allegories, metaphors, and semiotics behind the miniature paintings and other artefacts will be explained through storytelling. The tour leader is an active visual artist and miniature painter, trained in the arts of Book/Indian, Mughal, and Persian miniature painting.
